In Tarifa at the Costa de la Luz (or also called Costa del Surf) strong winds blow throughout the year with the exception of only some days.
Either the eastern, mostly coming from the Sahara (wind force 6-9, often more), warm LEVANTE or the weaker (strength up to 6), colder wind coming from the Atlantic PONIENTE.
Thanks to these two winds Tarifa and the surrounding areas until about fifty kilometers to Cape Trafalgar are well known spots among kite- and windsurfers from all over the world. Therefore Tarifa is an international tourist destination.
Even the local Tarifeños call Surfers "locos por el viento" which means "crazy for the wind"...

Kite Lessons 2010
The Kitelessons will be held at the beaches around Tarifa. Offer is a great choice of different Lessons which adjust to your skills and neeeds and of course we have to adapt to the weather conditions.
Your Kite-Lesson will be held by a Kiteboard-Instructor and is focussed on the most possible safety to enjoy the sport. All Lessons include Equipment.
The school teach according to Standards of theInternational Kiteboarding Organisation (IKO)
After the Lesson you will receive your personal IKO Card which certifies your Level. You will be an IKO Member and be able to enjoy the benefits being a IKO Certified Kiteboarder for example acess to rental Eqipment worldwide at all iKO centers.
